How to read seasonal status
Seasonal weight restrictions are not as uniform as ordinary gross and axle limits. Some states publish spring thaw or frost-law schedules, others publish route-specific notices, and some handle restrictions through permits, emergency orders, bridge postings, county roads, or temporary construction limits. A blank or low-confidence statewide field should never be read as permission to ignore the route.
The table separates confirmed seasonal sources from review results that only say a statewide source was not found. That distinction matters. A dispatcher may still need to check the permit office, current road condition page, county road authority, or bridge-posting notice shortly before the movement.

Why frost-law pages change
Frost and thaw restrictions depend on pavement conditions, weather, soil moisture, and local road structure. A state may publish seasonal notices only during part of the year, retire an old notice after the season ends, or move active restrictions to a map, PDF bulletin, permit portal, or regional contact page. That makes live verification more important than a static annual summary.
If a load is heavy, over legal weight, or close to an axle limit, check seasonal status after reading the scale ticket and before committing to a route. A legal axle weight on the Interstate does not guarantee that the same load can travel on a county road, posted bridge, thaw-restricted segment, or permit-controlled route.
